What you'll do...
We are looking for a Senior Distinguished architect with expertise in Native Mobile Platform and an enterprise architect experience to join Walmart Commerce Platform Engineering team. This is a hands-on role requires expert coding skills, strong architecture and design, deep focus and experience on operational excellence, and the ability to guide and mentor engineering leaders and teams. You will play a critical role in leading, designing, and developing business and technology initiatives that solve mission critical business problems for Walmart customers at the scale of several eCommerce businesses.

What you'll do:
As the Sr Distinguished Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our products and systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor and guide engineering professionals, and drive innovation to deliver high-quality, scalable, and robust software solutions.
To lead the architecture vision of Walmart eCommerce Platforms on the mobile apps and run the technical platform being used by 7+ businesses
Lead, design and develop Native Android and iOS-based applications, with owning central platform level capabilities and architectures. Define patterns and paradigms to be used by about 1800 engineers in various teams.
Lead, mentor and guide engineering leaders and teams
Stitch together requirements and enterprise architecture to drive solutions and strategies that drive the platform for years
Lead metrics such as Operational Stability, Developer Productivity and Performance
What you'll bring:
At least 9 years of overall experience in software engineering for Android or iOS platform within a large-scale enterprise architecture.
5+ years of experience designing architecture for Android or iOS platform integrating with a large-scale enterprise architecture
Experience developing and testing mobile clients either Android + Kotlin or iOS + Swift. Applicants should be vertically very deep in one of the platforms between Android or iOS and should have very good operating knowledge of the other platform.
Experience in mobile architectures including Model View Controller (MVC), Model View View-Model (MVVM), and VIPER. Experience publishing and managing dependencies using Maven and Gradle build systems.
Expertise on Git, Jenkins and Mobile App release management.
Experience with multi-tenant app development and resulting architecture paradigms.
Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
Excellent technical debugging and production support skills.
Experience navigating A/B test platforms, and decisions required to handle/mitigate the tests.
Experience with monitoring mobile app performance using Splunk, Grafana and Google/Apple provided dashboards, stability using Firebase Crashlytics, success rate and leveraging data to improve the same.
Improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews.
Operating knowledge and experience with public cloud technologies such as Azure OR Google Cloud Platform. Should be able to stitch together an architecture and conform to Mobile Apps’ needs
Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Bellevue, Washington US-11075:The annual salary range for this position is $192,000.00-$384,000.00
Sunnyvale, California US-08479:The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
