What You Will Do

You will play a critical role in representing Advanced Services, driving sales efforts while developing and expanding business opportunities with both large existing accounts and potential new clients. Your activities will be guided by, and in strong collaboration with, the Senior Account Executive for Advanced Services (SAE), ensuring alignment and strategic direction in all sales initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Fostering strong relationships: Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers to ensure outstanding service and customer satisfaction. Leverage these relationships to grow existing accounts and penetrate new markets.

Initiating sales: Take the lead in identifying and pursuing sales opportunities for Johnson Controls products and services. This includes generating leads, soliciting business from clients, securing referrals, preparing compelling proposals, and effectively closing contracts.

Providing market insights: Offer valuable feedback and insights regarding market trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, and effective marketing strategies that can enhance sales efforts and overall strategy.

Supporting the SAE: Assist the SAE by managing day-to-day transactions, preparing sales quotes, conducting sales presentations, performing customer surveys, and promoting additional products and services.

Troubleshooting customer concerns: Play a pivotal role in the resolution of customer issues, including billing challenges and service concerns, ensuring a seamless experience for all clients.

Career Development: Actively pursue career advancement opportunities within the sales division, with a goal of evolving into an Account Executive role. Demonstrate your capacity to meet and exceed sales quotas through hard work, dedication, and proven results.



How You Will Do It


Building Relationships: Develop and manage relationships with security consultants, architects, and engineering firms within the construction field, including general contractors, electricians, and subcontractors.

Networking: Engage actively in local industry associations, trade shows, and networking events to create new business relationships and bolster brand presence.

Sales Outreach: Proactively contact corporate accounts both in person and by phone, maintaining regular communication to foster long-term partnerships.

Responding to RFPs: Prepare comprehensive and tailored responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) aimed at converting prospects into loyal customers.

Consultative Selling: Collaborate with the Regional Director and SAE to apply consultative selling techniques. Develop structured marketing plans that identify opportunities for sales growth among target accounts.

Sales Pipeline Management: Create and maintain a detailed sales pipeline to track potential and qualified prospects. Ensure that sales activities align with established quotas and organizational goals.

Account Penetration: Drive wider account penetration by initiating frequent proactive contact, fostering positive relationships across various departments, including facilities management, loss prevention, IT, finance, and executive leadership.

Presentation and Proposal Preparation: Develop and deliver engaging sales presentations that effectively communicate the features and benefits of integrated solutions. Prepare final contracts for signature and ensure timely follow-up after installation to safeguard customer satisfaction.

Strategic Planning: Independently determine and implement effective call plans and customer follow-up strategies that emphasize time management and territory optimization.

Collaborative Efforts: Work alongside Operations and Engineering teams to ensure all documentation is accurate and aligns with customer specifications and needs.

Continuous Learning: Independently deepen your knowledge of Johnson Controls’ products and services, exploring training opportunities, industry trends, and conducting thorough market research.

Site Surveys: Conduct physical surveys of client premises to assess security needs and identify areas for enhancement.

System Design Assistance: Assist in designing security systems that meet customer requirements while adhering to Johnson Controls' best practices and compliance standards.

What We Look For

Required

  • Minimum of a college degree or an equivalent combination of work and military experience.

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated success in a sales representative or sales support role within a targeted professional corporate environment.

  • Engagement in campus organizations, sales competitions, or relevant extracurricular activities that highlight your drive and ambition in a sales career.

  • Commitment to upholding Johnson Controls policies, procedures, products, and services.

  • A strong desire to build a lasting career in the Life Safety sales industry.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Familiarity with the security, IT, or related technology sales industries.

  • Proven track record demonstrating the ability to consistently meet and exceed sales quotas and targets.
