The Role

We are looking for a self-motivated individual, who will build, manage and operate our 24/7 Infrastructure NOC. An ideal candidate must be someone who has extensive experience in network operations and preferably a subject matter expert in optical and IP Networks. The role needs someone who is comfortable on command line and GUIs, can easily work on a large-scale ISP network built on a robust fibre backbone and optical layers with the best vendors in the market.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the 24/7 Infrastructure NOC in Sofia including recruiting, scheduling and shift cover
  • Be a Major Incident Manager in case of a service impacting network event and have the ability to respond and react to critical situations on the network and mitigate them effectively
  • Have the judgment to make a clear technical decision on Optical & IP Networks in case of network outages. asses risk and reduce downtime of our core Infrascture. Ensure compliance to our change management process
  • Support the NOC in troubleshooting, analysing fibre breaks, customer impact lists and communication
  • Ticket and review all flaps on the network, spot trends and take actions to improve network stability
  • Analyze hardware fault trends and deep dive to understand various factors affecting failure rates and work with vendors on hardware stability
  • Review all physical and logical access to the network are authorised and any unauthorised activity is immediately reported
  • Ensure customer incidents are resolved in a timely manner
  • Review all upcoming maintenances and get the Optical layer checked before the works to avoid any issues in restoration. Be an active member of the Change Board Committee.
  • Participate in on call rotation and part of the escalation management team
  • Support us on BCP and ISO compliance in the future

What do we want from you?

  • Engineering degree and significant experience in a large-scale Telecommunications Network
  • Strong operational & engineering background in optical and IP networks.
  • Ability to run a 24/7 Center and manage shift rota
  • Participate in on-call rotation and escalation matrix 
  • Coach and mentor the NOC staff for their technical growth
  • Ensure Service availability is high and faults are fixed within OLAs
  • Identify trends on network and customer incidents
  • Support in growing the capabilities of the center
  • Availability as a manager during non-business hours and critical situations
  • Passionate about good customer experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred, using good written and verbal communication.
  • Telecommunications network knowledge is beneficial, particularly fibre networks.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Other European languages are beneficial.
  • Excellent customer focus and understanding of the culture of an international company in a fast-growing market
