Responsibilities

The Data Architect will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and development of logical, relational, and dimensional data models across our data warehouse environment. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall data architecture, ensuring the effective design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our internal and enterprise data assets. The role demands a strong expertise in both traditional entity-relationship data modeling for transaction processing systems and advanced data modeling for enterprise data warehouses.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of existing corporate data models and have a proven track record of collaborating with key stakeholders to establish both future and current state data architecture and experience in championing data solutions that align with business objectives,

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to assess current data architecture and develop future-state architectures that align with organizational goals.  
  • Lead discussions around business requirements, data needs, and technological capabilities to ensure that solutions meet both present and future needs.
  • Lead efforts to create, enhance, and maintain data models at all levels within the data warehouse (logical, relational, dimensional). Ensure that models are aligned with business requirements and that they can evolve with future data demands.
  • Provide thought leadership on best practices in data modeling, and work to create scalable, efficient data models that support business objectives.
  • Diagnose data issues, perform in-depth data analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
  • Identify and analyze atypical data outcomes, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal teams to uncover and define new data sources and structures that will support business growth.
  • Ensure that all data architectures and models adhere to internal data governance policies and comply with security standards (including PHI masking, information security regulations, and other IT-enforced controls). Work with data governance teams to ensure that best practices are followed, reducing risk across the enterprise.
  • Ensure all data models, processes, and requirements are clearly documented and that timelines and milestones are properly established and adhered to.

Qualifications

  • 9-11 years relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong and proven oral and written communication skills.
  • A team player who works well with functional and technical resources.
  • Expertise in SQL and proficiency in designing large-scale data storage solutions for technologies like Snowflake, SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
  • Solid understanding of information security and data privacy protocols, including compliance with data use and licensing agreements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment and quickly learn new technologies.
  • Experience in managing data governance, including the handling of PHI and ensuring compliance with organizational security policies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or other relevant discipline.

Base Salary Range

$130,000 -$175,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement.  The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
