Job Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) functions in a clinical and administrative support role to assist the health care professional to ensure the delivery of quality health care services.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Minimum: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Paramedic. Must maintain license/certification.

Work Experience:

Minimum: One year recent, relevant experience


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Skills

  • Provide safe patient care

  • Report facts with accuracy, follow instructions, and complete assignments independently

  • Collect patient assessment data pertaining to the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and learning needs of the patient utilizing effective communication skills

  • Provide patient care, direct and indirect, under the supervision of the RN and in accordance with the practice standards

  • Follow appropriate standards, policies and procedures to provide optimal patient care

  • Perform efficiently in emergency situations following established standards, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events

  • Facilitate effective working relationships/communications with all members of health team to promote a consistent and efficient continuum of patient care.

  • Regard change as an opportunity and constantly adjust to it

Quality Management
