Job Summary:

The Clinical Quality Analytics & Insights Associate provides basic analysis services and project support to business partners and internal team customers through reporting, data analysis and dashboards.  Under direct leadership guidance, the analyst utilizes quality decision support solutions (Benchmarking, Safety and Business Line systems).  As such, the analyst is responsible for assisting in the development of customer requirements, analyzing relevant data sets to supporting team insight deliverables.

1. Coordinates, captures and synthesizes internal and external structured / unstructured data; including extract, transform and load processing for quality, safety and clinical operational data

2. Participates in data governance models; runs pre-developed auditing tools and follows analysis methodologies to ensure data integrity; helps to maintain data dictionaries and catalogs

3. Demonstrates general data understanding relating data points to quality processes such as peer benchmarking, length of stay (LOS) analysis, mortality analysis, readmission analysis, incident/complication analysis, and safety reporting; relates to operational process improvement opportunities and recommends options as appropriate

4.  Attends meetings and daily communication sessions to keep abreast of project objectives, process workflows and progress of business concepts

5. Participates in special projects as required (external benchmarking surveys, internal business priorities, etc)

6. Functions in and accountable for highly sensitive data; maintains absolute confidentiality

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Operations and Maintenance of the Benchmarking, Safety or Business Line (BSB) solutions

a. Knowledgeable on general use of at least one BSB solution
b. Supports the development of BSB reporting products
c. As directed, updates BSB solutions for units of service, cost centers, charge weights, volume loads, etc
d. As directed, designs, develops and maintains user friendly dashboards using available datasets
e. Participates in customer education on the interpretation and use of the BSB solution information
f. Understands KPI concept and aware of own SLA attainment

Customer Support

a. Understands business impact to simple problems and discusses recommendations with peers and superiors

b. Develops basic customer requirement documents for assigned technology area with general oversight
c. Follows support plans with general leadership oversight; ability to triage basic issues to the appropriate group if necessary
d. Answers simple questions regarding assigned technology and identifies when assistance is needed

Team Communications

a. Develop personal action plans from meetings and follow through on assigned tasks
b. Writing and reviewing documentation
c. Contributes knowledge to decision documents; produces basic presentations
d. Shares knowledge with team plans and meets deadlines for basic projects or tasks
e. Attends and participates in team meetings and team building events, is aware and participates in team and organizational activities

Technical Quality

a. Follows up and verifies quality of work deliverables; following prescribed models, responsible for quality review of assigned projects and tasks
b. Documents process improvement ideas as appropriate
c. Performs pre-defined data validation audits and escalates findings when outside of standards

Minimum 1 year

Individual contributor in a team-based operation in technology, quality, safety, human resources, management engineering or clinical operations.

equivalent experience or coursework.

Healthcare experience

Specific knowledge of Kronos Analytics, Vizient ODB / CDB, EPSI, StrataJazz, RL Solutions and HR Analytics tools

Required Minimum Skills:

General understanding of Quality / Safety / Business Line and associated data analysis.

Capable of attending meetings and capturing general customer requirements.

Familiar with storytelling concepts and tools.

Requires high attention to detail and academic business experience through internships, fellowships, etc.

Must be familiar with standard IT frameworks and be willing to obtain basic certifications such as Agile, ITSM or Scrum.
