You will be responsible for logistical support of Family and Teen Programs, focusing on Festival and large-scale educational programming for multigenerational audiences. You will contribute to our work with children, families, and teens to make The Met a welcoming place, through activities and programs that inspire young people and their caregivers to explore the Museum’s collection and their own creativity. You will coordinate short- and long-term logistics and administrative duties, day-of festival implementation, and support ongoing partnerships for these initiatives under the guidance of the Associate Educator, Family and Teen Programs.
This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule with some early morning, evening, and weekend hours required.
Collaborate and communicate with staff across internal education programs and coordinate with departments across the wider museum to facilitate events and festivals.
Coordinate logistics for festivals and large-scale events in Family and Teen Programs, , including reserving rooms and resources; scheduling program staff; purchasing and maintaining supplies; arranging in-person and virtual meetings; and assisting in program evaluation and analysis.
Monitor and maintain budgets, prepare and process invoices and agreements, and track expenses.
Collect, extract and organize data from event participation to assist in the development of funding and impact reports.
Under the guidance of the Associate Educator, organize and prepare internal and external program communications, including regular entries and updates to the Museum’s web content and event/personnel management systems, print publications, and email communications.
Train and work with interns and volunteers who support Family and Teen Programs to ensure high-quality visitor experiences. Schedule and communicate with volunteers and interns.
Provide front-line customer service for Festivals, including responding to inquiries as directed and supporting on the day of the event, as well as additional Family and Teen Programs as needed.
Assist with the implementation of programs and activities across Family and Teen Programs, especially select logistics for the 81st Street Studio family space, such as inventory and reviewing upkeep needs.
Assist other Education teams as needed.

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
2 years’ experience (inclusive of internships) working in administrative, program, project or event support. Interest in or experience with museum education, cultural institutions of any kind, studio art, human development, and/or programming for family and teen audiences preferred.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, remain flexible, shift priorities, problem-solve, and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment.
Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively and professionally with different constituencies, verbally and in writing. This includes excellence in customer service, a motivated and personable stance towards visitors and colleagues, writing succinctly and proofreading materials for online and print publications, and a demonstrable desire and ability to effectively engage with children, families, and teens in the Museum.
Strong project management and collaboration skills.
Experience working with and maintaining databases and spreadsheets utilizing complex systems.
Full command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and solid computer skills required. Ability to learn and master new systems with support and training.
Pay Rate: $30.00 / Hourly

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
