Position: Staff Technical Program Manager

Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030

Duties: Lead the overall transactions portfolio strategy and drive Engineering and Operational Excellence initiatives for large scale complex engineering programs. Ensure alignment with strategic objectives related to ecommerce operations. Develop program roadmaps, define project scopes, and create detailed workplans to drive successful completion within defined success metrics, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective program delivery. Establish clear communication channels and facilitate regular status updates. Work closely with Senior Leadership to understand customer experience. Collaborate with Principal Architects and Engineering Managers to define, plan, prioritize, and execute the strategic top-down business objectives including Public Cloud Infrastructure Migrations, Cloud Configuration Management, Cost Optimizations, Application Performance Optimizations, and Operational Excellence Initiatives to enhance developer productivity such as One-Click Deployments, Faster Production Support, and Incident Response Management. Ensure teams adopt best practices, architectural standards, and engineering principles to resolve complex technical challenges. Act as the face of transactions in Operational and Engineering Excellence meetings and provide presentations at a portfolio level to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations effectively. Identify and assess program risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement proactive measures. Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline operational processes throughout the eCommerce transactions lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify pain points, design efficient workflows, implement automations where applicable, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness. Help drive cloud cost optimization initiatives by understanding the high-level cloud native Platform and Azure Architecture. Identify scalability bottlenecks and conduct performance testing. Implement solutions to improve system performance, stability, and reliability. Define and implement Quality Assurance processes and standards across the portfolio. Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to analyze operational metrics, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to drive decision making, operational efficiency, and process improvements. Establish reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into program process, milestones, and KPIs. Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for management. Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and manage expectations. Act as a point of contact for escalations, blockers, and issue resolution, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of stakeholder concerns to progress on the program towards defined success metrics. Oversee resource planning and allocation and work closely with functional managers to ensure the availability of skilled resources to meet program objectives for engineering excellence. Optimize resource distribution across multiple PODs and balance workload distribution across the program teams for effective delivery. Drive large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects reviewing System Resiliency requirements; direct and review design artifacts; oversee software design; code reviews; and enhance designs to prevent recurrences of defects. Drive Continuous improvement initiatives within the portfolio of engineering programs and identify areas for process optimization, efficiency gains, cost optimization, resource optimization, and build innovative solutions. Implement and socialize strategies and best practices to drive future program enhancements across product features and Engineering Excellence initiatives. This position does not supervise employees.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Any), Management Information Systems, or related area and 3 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area; OR Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Any), Management Information Systems, or related area and 5 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Skills required: Experience designing microservices architecture using knowledge of Object Oriented programming concepts.  Experience with Relational Databases, including JavaScript (JS), TypeScript (TS), Node.js, Spring Rest Service, Spring Boot, and Cosmos. Experience managing cost optimization initiatives using knowledge of public cloud infrastructure. Experience with Portfolio Planning, Engineering Program Management, and Product Design. Demonstrated knowledge of System Architecture. Experience creating dashboards and reports using Microsoft (MS) Excel, Tableau, Confluence, and JIRA Automation.
