Summary
The Sourcing & Supply Manager I is responsible for contract management, program management, operational spend analysis, and contract negotiation. This position reports to the Category Manager supporting a specific area of responsibility or group.

Essential Functions

  • Contract Management- Develop and manage a contract portfolio which will entail business reviews, supplier performance management and contract renewal activities
    • The candidate must be able to understand and assess industry trends manage supplier performance including recommending and driving corrective actions
    • Able to interface with stakeholders for supplier performance and contract compliance

  • Program Management- The successful candidate will possess the ability to develop internal and external relationships, develop reporting communications to internal customers and communicate program status to Ryder management
    • Track and report monthly savings and contract compliance
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly summary performance reports; savings, spend, compliance and supplier performance
    • Perform Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers

  • Operational Spend Analysis- Conduct opportunity assessments with stakeholders to identify sourcing projects, which will result in lower operational expenses
    • Candidate must possess the ability to do quantitative analysis and deductive reasoning based on quantitative facts
    • Must be able to conduct market analysis and communicate new opportunities, trends and commodity forecast

  • Conduct Sourcing Projects- Drive results through sourcing projects consisting of cross-functional representation from Ryder teams
    • Drive timeliness and completion of projects throughout the specified commodity
    • Must be able to design RFP's to have the flexibility to handle variation in demand to a high degree of customization in the services provided
    • Be able to estimate leverage and organizational tolerance for supplier changes

  • Examine opportunities for alternative suppliers

  • Contract Negotiation- Support contract negotiations with key suppliers for specific commodity
    • Develop new programs and sources based on purchasing strategy and customer needs
    • The ability to negotiate pricing and performance measures while discussing options with stakeholders

  • Communications- Proactively communicate and resolve issues with end-users, ensuring customer satisfaction
    • Candidate will spend 60% of the time selling an idea or a new process internally or negotiating with suppliers externally

Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot Charts, queries, custom functions, data management and analysisadvanced

  • Advanced Level Skills in MS Word such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text advanced

  • Advanced Level Skills in MS Power Point such as inserting charts, graphs and tables, animation and multimedia, customizing slide shows with hyperlinks, drawing and working with objects, speaker notes and meeting notes, and advanced presentation features advanced

  • Basic level skills with MS Access such as identifying database components, starting and examining access, opening a database, planning and creating a database, saving and adding records, finding and replacing values in a table, setting field properties, creating reports, and printing reports beginner

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or Finance

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Three (3) years or more experience in Purchasing

  • Experience and understanding of legal aspect of contracts, terms and conditions

  • Strategic Sourcing and/or IT experience highly desired

  • Experience with Procurement and e-sourcing preferred

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type:

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$70,000

Maximum Pay Range:

$80,000

The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
