Job Summary:
Join the Subscription and Billing Services Management team of Cat Digital as a Digital Product Manager. Oversees the day-to-day activities and staff supporting backlog refinement, requirements definition and business validation for the subscription and billing suite of software products.  The Product Manager collaborates with Business Analysts, Product Owners, System Engineering, Data and Analytics Architects, Program Management & Dealers.


What You Will Do:

  • Manages prioritization of issues, enhancements, and associated feature elaboration for the team Accountable for delivery of requirements that enable maximum product value with right-size solutions.
  • Accountable for business sign-off of new functionality introduced to the product to ensure application quality standards are maintained
  • Partners with the business and marketing to position and promote supported and planned products.
  • Works closely with product owners to understand and contribute to the product vision and backlog
  • Coordinates with IT to ensure new features are developed and deployed on schedule, fulfilling requirements and within budget
  • Interfaces with users to monitor and analyze product performance and customer satisfaction

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Expert knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Extensive understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Software Change Request Management: Extensive knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Software Product Business Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
  • Software Product Management: Extensive knowledge of software product management; ability to operate and manage software product development projects at all stages of the product development lifecycle.

Considerations for Top Candidates:

  • Experience managing people, with demonstrated ability building trust, fostering communication, setting clear expectations and deadlines, conducting performance reviews and motivating, developing and empowering teams.
  • Expertise with subscription and billing software product management or engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of software product management; ability to operate and manage software product development projects at all stages of the product development lifecycle (typically, 8+ years of professional experience and 5+ years as a Product Owner or related role using Agile methodology)
  • Proven experience leading a technical team while simultaneously managing multiple projects
  • Experience managing projects using Agile software tools such as DevOps/VSTS, Aha!
  • Knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Working knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
  • Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Background in Information Technology
  • Product Owner certification (CSPO from Scrum Alliance)

Additional Information:

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Westminster, CO offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.

Summary Pay Range:

$123,480.00 - $185,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
