As a Clinical Systems Analyst, you will support controlled substances standard daily work and reporting to ensure appropriate use of narcotics and decrease the risk of drug diversion serving both Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital. You will also conduct financial and operational monitoring and support automation troubleshooting at both hospitals.  


The ideal future caregiver is someone who:  

  • Has pharmacy experience.  

  • Has experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel.  

  • Has in-depth knowledge of clinical theory and practice.  

  • Is familiar with the processes and procedures related to healthcare regulatory agencies. 

  • Demonstrates strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with end-users to define problems.
  • Coordinates and conducts education and end-user training programs to ensure systems are utilized as designed.
  • Assists with end-user documentation development or a permanent reference for clear, concise information.
  • Provides implementation assistance for system projects through all phases of the system development life cycle with direction from Lead Analyst.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Certifications:

  • Experience typically supported by license in a medically related field such as nursing, pharmacy assistant, medical assistant, medical technology or EMT.
  • Technical certification may be required.
  • For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date.  

Complexity of Work:

  • Must demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Familiar with the processes and procedures related to health care regulatory agencies.
  • In depth knowledge of clinical theory and practice.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of applicable hospital or major medical center clinical experience or one year of recent experience supporting a major clinical information system.
  • Offset:  High School diploma/GED and one year of relevant experience, plus an additional four years of healthcare IT experience.
  • Offset:  Associate’s degree and one year of relevant experience, plus an additional two years of healthcare IT experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. 
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
