Current Need

The US Oncology Network within McKesson’s US Pharmaceutical (USP) Segment is seeking to accelerate the impact and outcomes of our businesses by bringing on a Project Manager, Strategic Operations.

Position Description 

Strategic Operations Services is an internal advisory function within The US Oncology Network that partners with operational leadership and other key stakeholders to execute on the strategic objectives of the organization and to meet the complex needs of the patients that we serve.

The McKesson Strategic Operations Services is seeking to add a Project Manager to its existing team, which is responsible for planning, delivering, and implementing high-priority strategic projects that advance the organization’s competitive position. In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will support the BU in pulling through the enterprise’s broad strategy into the business unit’s reality. Our team conducts projects related to evaluating and incubating new growth opportunities and solutions, partnering with external stakeholders, and optimizing and growing our existing businesses. This role’s leadership will advance McKesson’s objective to achieve better business health for our customers and better care for all.

The ideal candidate will be curious, analytical, and confident, with a natural drive to exceed immediate project requirements. A genuine passion for transformation, combined with relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills will be key to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, scopes and manages strategic projects end-to-end (including implementation); maintains responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed; manages stakeholder relationships and expectations
  • Facilitates business problem solving through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesized insights leading to recommendations to senior management
  • Develops economic models to evaluate new business models or solutions Builds trust and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization
  • Influences and gains acceptance of others to one’s ideas through effective communication, relevant and insightful analyses, and creative thinking
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context both present and over the next few years
  • Acts as thought partner in strategic discussions even outside of own projects and a business

Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Education

4-year Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience

Critical Skills

  • Minimum  4+ years of relevant experience in successful operations and project leadership in a clinical setting
  • Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities
  • Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
  • Communications skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively especially with senior leadership
  • Execution Skills: Ability to work well under pressure and effectively and professionally navigate tough situations
  • Technical Capabilities: Strong usage of Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization applications such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Autonomy: Must possess the ability to work independently, organize work effectively and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets.     Our Base Pay Range for this position

    $87,100 - $145,100
