An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically minded Treasury Accounting Manager to support and continue to contribute to the development of policy and controls within a changing business environment as well as directly performing and overseeing the work of the department. 

As the Treasury Accounting Manager, you’ll manage a small team with responsibility for a specific business unit and/or part of the departments. You’ll be reporting and control activities, as well as having additional cross department responsibilities for elements of the reporting and reconciliation work of the department performed across all areas.

While reporting directly to one Senior Manager the Manager will be expected to contribute widely to the duties of the team and to rotate between functions to broaden their knowledge and experience.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Reviewing the accounting reconciliation process for the business unit and ensure that it fully complies with AORP policy, Risk policies control objectives
  • Assisting the operation of a process of continual improvement of reporting standards and efficiency
  • Implementing accounting processes that are required to ensure correct representation of assets, liabilities, and profit & loss
  • Ensuring timely submission to Group Reporting of Treasury Packs and ensure accurate mapping of the TB to FCCS codes
  • Working with the System Development teams in New Treasury Combined Team to deliver change, system enhancements and put processes and controls in place for new business activity
  • Managing the accounting reconciliation process for the business unit and ensure that it fully complies with AORP policy, Risk policies control objectives
     

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of treasury / wholesale products and services, including cash and funding instruments, derivatives, and bonds
  • To be a fully qualified accountant, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Understanding of key drivers of wholesale markets profit & loss and balance sheet movements
  • Previous experience in a Treasury Finance / Product Control function or Market Risk function
  • A high degree of IT skills – knowledge of front office booking systems as well as Microsoft products, particularly Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting for financial instruments & experience in managing a small team and confident in making departmental decisions

This role is based in Triton Square, London.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
