Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Marketing team is looking for an Investment Writer that will craft compelling stories for Financial Advisors, showcasing our thought leadership, investment products, and financial planning tools that assist advisors in managing their clients' investments through all our communication channels.
While you’ll work on the full suite of products and offers, your primary focus is to support our Model Portfolios and Vanguard Personalized Indexing offers.
As an FAS Investment Writer you’ll wear many hats. You’ll partner closely with our Marketing Strategists and stakeholders to understand the products and offers at a deep level. As a result, you’ll be the technical experiment within the FAS Creative team on those offers. You’ll take the pen on crafting any net new content for Advisors, as you are the technical expert within the FAS Creative team. And as the marketing pods think about crafting end to end experience design, you’ll consult with the team so they understand the nuances of the product, as well as coach the embedded writers and designers on the best way to articulate our message. While there are times you’ll work to completely rebrand a product, or launch a breakthrough campaign, you’ll also be occasionally asked to step in and help the team execute as needed.
This role:
Creates in-depth, compelling communications and positioning on a range of subjects, including Vanguard funds, products, and services; financial markets; the economy; regulatory matters; portfolio construction and theory, and internal communication topics.
Displays versatility in producing clear communications through a wide range of styles and channels, including responsive web pages, campaigns, ads, emails, presentations, blogs, videos, letters, articles, videos, and social media channels.
Expertly presents and "sells" content and design solutions to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders. Ensures the success of the strategy.
Assumes a leadership role on key projects for the department or cross departments that require data analytics and subject matter expertise, including responsive web pages, timely communications, campaigns, visioning, testing, and news.
Provides creative direction and guidance on messaging and/or content strategy across mediums-working closely and collaboratively with designers, developers, marketing managers, and business leaders. Leads the creation of new approaches or processes with a 1-3 year outlook.
Serves as mentor to less experienced writers by providing specific feedback on their copy, story ideas, new media formatting, and interviewing skills.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum five years related work experience.
Experience creating compelling communications and positioning on a range of financial industry subjects.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
CFP or CFA preferred.
This role is part of our hybrid work model with Tuesdays – Thursdays required in our offices to foster collaboration and relationships. On Mondays and Fridays, our crew will have the option to work remotely, or continue working from our offices in Malvern PA.
