A Brief Overview:
The Supervisor, Public Safety - Dispatch plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within, in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Public Safety Dispatch department, ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff, and managing a team of security personnel.

What you will do:

  • Supervising, training, and mentoring a team of Public Safety Dispatchers, including scheduling and performance management.
  • Fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the department.
  • Ensuring adequate staffing levels for 24/7 coverage.
  • Monitoring security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Conducting regular security patrols and respond to security incidents or emergencies promptly.
  • Collaborating with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with all hospital security policies, as well as state and federal regulations related to healthcare security.
  • Developing and updating security policies and procedures as needed.
  • Coordinating and participating in drills and exercises to prepare for potential security and safety threats.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security improvements.
  • Implementing measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Leading investigations into security incidents, accidents, or complaints.
  • Documenting and reporting incidents as required.
  • Providing ongoing training to security personnel on relevant security protocols and procedures.
  • Ensuring staff members are up to date with required certifications and training.

What you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree Criminal Science preferred
  • Minimum of six months supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare or security setting preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) - International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Certification in healthcare security (e.g., Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator - CHPA) is a plus.
