Job Description:
SCOPE: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a vital role within the management team at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, overseeing all finance and accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will lead a diverse team of professionals and engage regularly with leadership, physicians, Board members, and external health system partners. This position serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO and the leadership team. This role will also be overseeing the information technology and facilities team.
As part of the OneOncology platform, the CFO will collaborate closely with the OneOncology team on various local accounting and finance functions. Daily interactions will occur with teams in Treasury, Strategic Finance, Business Development, Technology, and Operations.
The CFO will provide financial, operational, and revenue cycle leadership to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, its affiliates, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and their service lines. Key responsibilities include:
• Budget Responsibilities
• Financial Resource Management
• Financial Statements & Operational Productivity Reports
• Financial Performance and Long-Range Projections
• Cash Management and Banking Matters
• Strategic Planning
• Process Management
• Policies and Procedures / Third Party Compliance
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with physicians, C-Suite executives, corporate leaders, and business partners at all levels. Additionally, the CFO will be responsible for building a high-performing team with a proactive, customer-oriented approach in a dynamic, growing environment.
EDUCATION:
• Master’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 10 years of financial administration preferably in healthcare.
• CPA preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of oncology clinical activities and the ability to translate them into an efficient and effective revenue cycle operation.
