We are seeking a Chief of Staff to join our Home Financing leadership team who will provide thought leadership in the mortgage market and influence the outcomes of the business and accelerate our impact within the housing market.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will be a strategic and trusted adviser to the Homes CEO influencing and supporting the delivery of Homes' short and long-term goals.

  • Critical friend and sounding board to the CEO on all aspects of their role, including asking questions, interrogating decisions, and bringing a different perspective.
  • Act as interface and support preparedness of CEO (including briefings) for key meetings and with external partners and regulatory bodies.
  • Own key CEO deliverables and make space for the leader to focus on the most important things ensuring they are always prepared.
  • Gather information from across the organisation, assess it, control the information flow and the translation of it to the CEO, senior leaders and wider stakeholders.
  • Lead on ongoing development and embedding of operating model for Homes.
  • Lead orchestration of governance and operating cadence for Homes to facilitate leadership team effectiveness and maximise efficiency of the Homes decision making process.
  • Create, track and assess Homes’ performance and strategic KPI’s against defined plans, ensuring alignment with corporate plan and agreed strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor conduct and operational risks for Homes and helping the CEO and senior leaders navigate through uncertainty and risk as well as ensuring emerging risks are mitigated.
  • Ensure robust management of all risks (incl. strategic risks) so that business plans, practices and policies pay due regard to those through prudent management.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence through continuous improvements, rigorous governance and effective risk oversight.
  • Assist the CEO in creating and delivering the desired culture (including a forward-looking risk culture).
  • Oversee the review of SMF responsibilities and accountabilities across the Homes leadership team, including CEO’s regulatory return oversight.

  • Experience in a business management or executive role. Commercial, Finance or Marketing background
  • Experience dealing and influencing senior executives and third parties
  • Experience in organising and directing multiple teams and departments, planning and leading strategic initiatives
