What you will do

Have you been part of the investment industry for several years with a growing interest in data governance and analytics? Do you want to be part of a global effort to thoughtfully design and build a real estate data platform? If so, consider joining our product team within PGIM Real Estate as an Asset Data Trustee as we design and implement a global real estate equity data platform where you will lead data governance, access, and socialization.

The Director, Data Governance - Data Trustee will be primarily responsible for partnering with business stakeholders in Asset Management, Fund Operations, Portfolio Management and Data Management to define, implement and maintain a robust asset level data model to support business information needs. This individual will ensure that the integrity of the data model is preserved from source to destination across external partners, internal data teams and the front-end application for business users. This role reports to the Chief Product Owner for Equity.

If fully remote, there will be mandatory travel to our Newark office at minimum four times per year, with timing of travel based on business need.

What you can expect

Data Governance

  • Solicit input from key stakeholders to determine data objects, attributes, definitions and validation rules to be implemented across the platform and document the data dictionary in a structured manner
  • Establish and monitor key metrics to measure data quality and track progress

Data Access

  • Coordinate with data source owners (internal and external) to implement the defined data model in their processes to collect, normalize and validate asset level data
  • Navigate smoothly from discussions with business users to more technical discussions on the platform architecture and application development teams in order to build the defined data model into a new cloud-based back end in an agile manner with clear prioritization

Data Socialization

  • Communicate strategically to present the data model to the organization and inform them of progress
  • Apply SQL and other data analytics capability to curate and present asset data to users in the organization for their desired needs

What you will bring

  • Bachelors’ degree and 8+ years of experience with data governance, data dictionaries, and validation rules in the financial services sector
  • Ability to drive stakeholder interaction to capture user needs with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Successful execution skills and attention to detail
  • Professional and energetic self-starter with ability to multitask without sacrificing quality of work
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to effectively take the conceptual to the pragmatic
  • Familiarity with agile frameworks and methodologies

What will set you apart?

  • Experience in Real Estate Equity data analytics and/or accounting with knowledge of real estate datasets and sources common in investment management firms (e.g., leasing, financial, physical attributes, market data, etc.)
  • Highly proficient with Excel and SQL with extensive data analysis experience

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $136,000 to $160,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
