We are looking for a Payment Business Analyst to assist the Business Operations manager through a period of change. Not only do we have a new internal Payments system, there is a vast amount of change within the payment industry, which brings additional change and opportunity. We also have big ambitions to improve the client journey in respect of our payment offering.

The role will require the person to interact both internally and externally. For example, one day you may be analysing an internal payment issue, on another you might be doing some data analysis and the next day you may be speaking to a supplier and documenting requirements. The impact to the client should be clear in each of these interactions.

The role will suit someone who understands what constitutes a well-controlled payments function and has had experience within a project role. They should have experience in challenging status quo, offering solutions, be self-motivated.

These are the core responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Business Operations Manager and Project Manager on new projects and assist with requirements and documentation.
  • Own payment issues from beginning to end, working with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a systematic and timely fashion and put steps in place to mitigate the issues in the future
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to create a suite of reports for management and reports to identify areas for improvement
  • Create adhoc reports and analyse data to support project change.
  • Work with other departments to create a set of SLAs and reports between Payments and their department.
  • Actively document or improve documentation to support the Payments team or the wider business
  • Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of AML, CASS, KYC, GDPR, banking sanctions and FCA regulations , and all other applicable laws and regulations to ensure that handling of customer accounts and client funds fully complies at all times within these rules and regulations

Key Skills & Experience

  • 5 years + Payment experience,
  • 2 years of Project related experience with experience in writing business requirements
  • Experience in report writing and data analysis,
  • An understanding of card processing and/or digital open banking and/or host to host solutions, is preferable
  • Exposure to working in an FCA regulated environment is preferable
  • Understanding of the CASS rules and regulations (desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
  • Excellent initiative and practical application of knowledge.
