Job-Specific Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous managerial experience
  • Mechanical knowledge is required
  • Ease of use with technology (phones, laptops, operating systems, etc.)
  • Must reside within the greater Portland Metro area (including Vancouver, WA)

Job Summary

 Manages all functions and future growth of the service and repair team. Oversees the assistance of customers with parts and equipment recommendations, related inquiries, and orders.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Supervises parts and repair order entry, inquiry, and follow-up.
  • Leads the team in estimation approvals, part quotes, vendor warranties, and part lookups.
  • Oversees technician schedules and prioritization as well as technician training and assistance.
  • Collaborates with internal partners to ensure customer expectations are met with repairs and part services.
  • Works with Area Service Manager to continually optimize performance via process improvements.
  • Directs the management of adequate inventory, manuals, files, and reports.

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
