Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Held over an 11-week period during the summer of 2025 for undergrad students graduating between December 2025 and August 2026. The paid internship will prepare associates for a career with Walmart’s Food Manufacturing Division. Work on a meaningful project, network with industry experts, and develop your skills while having an epic summer!

 

About Walmart Manufacturing 

As a member of our Manufacturing Team, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of Walmart's rapidly expanding Food Manufacturing Division! Our journey into manufacturing began in the 90's with our own optical lens production, and we have since established three state-of-the-art optical labs. In recent years, we have expanded our operations to include a dairy processing plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2018, and a beef packaging facility in Thomasville, GA in 2019. Excitingly, we will further expand our operations by mid-2025, with the addition of a new beef plant in Olathe, KS and another dairy plant in Valdosta, GA. A Manufacturing Operations Internship means anopportunity to explore a careeras part ofthe worldslargestretailer!  We arelooking for students who are strong problem solvers who can deliver solutions to complex, challenging problems. You will Learn and understand the different roles within our dairy processing plant, such as receiving, packaging, production, quality control, safety, maintenance, and warehousing.

How you’ll spend your day as Manufacturing Operations Intern… 

  • Work with a cross-functional team to solve complex problems on a large scale. 

  • Partner in a dynamic, collaborative environment while leveraging the resources of Walmart Inc. to gain insight into other areas of the business. 

  • Partner with a group of Managers, hourly associates, and sub-departments within our manufacturing environment. 

  • Think strategically and lead phenomenally to remove obstacles for your team, inspiring them to work with passion. 

  • Participate in mentorship opportunities throughout the summer. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program currently. 

  • Expected graduation date between December 2025-August 2026 

  • You have strong communication and collaboration skills. 

  • You think big picture.

  • You are a structured and organized thinker. 

  • You have strong problem-solving skills. 

  • Willingness to relocate to a Walmart’s Food Manufacturing facilities after graduation: Fort Wayne, IN, Olathe, KS, Valdosta, GA, or Robinson, TX,

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00-$35.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
