The role:

As a Category Assistant, you will join our Product tribe where you will have the opportunity to gain experience learning about category management. The Product tribe create, curate and deliver market leading product experiences to our customers.

A critical role in our team, our Category Assistant is the first point of contact for the squad, you’ll play a pivotal role in connecting with suppliers, customers, and key internal stakeholders. Your contributions will be vital in achieving our squad’s key objectives, primarily through data maintenance, reporting and management of financials.

  • Collaborate with our dynamic team to create and implement innovative strategies that drive quarterly sales and gross profit, transforming budgets into actionable plans that inspire growth
  • Through data management, harness insights to shape decisions and propel the business forward
  • Elevate our reporting processes by interpreting key data insights. Your ability to distill complex information will empower stakeholders to make informed decisions and spark strategic initiatives.
  • Take the lead in managing and optimizing category financials, ensuring alignment with overall business goals while identifying opportunities for enhancement and innovation
  • Partner with stores and customers to drive initiatives that elevate service quality. Your passion for exceptional service will create memorable experiences and strengthen our community ties.
  • Contribute to a culture of agility by supporting the adoption of Agile methodologies. Your fresh ideas will help streamline processes and foster a collaborative environment that thrives on adaptability.

What’s in your toolkit?

  • A strong numerical and data aptitude that helps you shine in reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that make you a go-to person for stakeholder management.
  • Problem-solving prowess and a proactive attitude that sets you apart
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Previous experience in a retail, professional, or supplier environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP? Even better!
  • A tertiary qualification is desirable
