Dematic is looking for a Solution Development Lead (SDPL) to join our winning Procurement team reporting to the Head of Solution Development Procurement EMEA. These are newly created roles that will require substantial transformation.

The SDPLs are seconded to the Solution Development teams and serve as the link between technical sales and procurement (category management and Procurement Project Management). The area of responsibility has significant and strategic impact on the overall success of Dematic’s growth strategy and execution planning.

The role requires a high degree of cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Solution Development, Global Project Engineering and Finance in order to successfully achieve business objectives. Speed of execution, general accuracy and quality of engagement with customer-facing colleagues are paramount to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization works in a compliant and highly ethical manner in executing the Procurement duties during the tender preparation in the sales phase
  • Understand and thoughtfully navigate cultural and language differences within the region and globally
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (at all levels and countries) to ensure (internal) customer satisfaction and order intake
  • Ensure due diligence of the “as-sold’ costs, to avoid nonconformity costs (NCCs) during project execution resulting from missed requirements during tender stage
  • Ensures a continuous improvement mindset for suppliers, extended Procurement team and solutions development function
  • Make necessary linkage of customer won projects in order to provide forward visibility to supplier’s capacity

Tasks and Qualifications:

What we are looking for:

  • +5 years of Procurement and/or relative work experience
  • Bi-lingual is preferred
  • Key languages English, Spanish, German
  • Proven negotiator
  • Ability to solve complex problems and find creative solutions
  • Specific experience working in a complex and fast-growing environment (preferred)
  • Experience project management, materials management, planning to execution.
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed.
  • Demonstrates advance understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
  • CPSM (preferred)
  • PMP (preferred)
