Are you an expert in SOX compliance and audit? If so, we have an outstanding opportunity for you to Manage our Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) SOX Compliance and Audit program. You will ensure it aligns with enterprise standards and procedures, complies with external regulatory mandates, and meets the needs of stakeholders.Minimum Requirements:
10 Years of experience in SOX compliance and audit
A bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field
Strong leadership and interpersonal collaboration skills
Detailed understanding of the Sarbanes Oxley Act and the COSO framework of internal controls
Knowledge of compliance areas impacting D&IT such as SOX, PCI, ARS/NERC-CIP, and SWIFT
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Audit requirements
Attention to detail and ability to recognize potential gaps, overlaps or inconsistencies
Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrated capability in identifying opportunities and leading and sustaining improvement initiatives
Ability to interact with Senior and Executive leaders and provide updates to drive action or decision making
A results-driven mindset and ability to take initiative and ownership of issues and tasks through to resolution
Responsibilities:
Lead a cross-functional team (via non-authoritative leadership) across IT and the business to drive efficiencies and improve risk posture
Anticipates, monitors, and makes recommendations to areas of risk exposure to mitigate identified risk
Foster a proactive orientation to testing, recommending solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness while building strong relationships with business units across the organization
Participate in strategic new business initiatives to identify emerging risks and recommend effective control activities
Plan, scope, execute and review control testing work required to support annual SOX certification
Coordinate the global SOX testing strategy with the Company’s external auditors to maximize their reliance on the team’s testing results
Manage the annual internal control assessment and reporting process
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including the Company’s operations, Internal Audit department, and the Company’s external auditors
Drives the development of policies, procedures, and internal controls that comply with SOX requirements
Proactively seek improved process solutions and make recommendations on opportunities for further development.
Support Suncor compliance to SOX, PCI, ARS-CIP, and SWIFT, and ensure effectiveness of key controls in alignment with compliance requirements
Creates awareness about IT SOX control requirements and provide necessary trainings to users across the organization
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
