European Payroll Accountant

The Role

We are looking for a new member to join our diverse finance team who will take ownership for the end- to -end payroll accounting processes for multiple European locations. The right candidate works closely with our HR and finance teams and will equally ensure full compliance with statutory requirements and regulations as well as provide accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Business partnering with the HR and finance teams, including understanding the processes for various payrolls in detail
  • Providing monthly commissions calculations
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of payroll information
  • Checking and reconciling payroll on a monthly basis, incl. posting of payroll related entries on the accounting system
  • Investigating and resolving queries relating to payroll; this will entail working closely with local payroll specialists to resolve any issues identified
  • Monthly calculation of capitalised labour and bonus
  • Making payroll related payments
  • Providing cost centre analysis to department heads and further ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Supporting staff cost forecasting process
  • Supporting the annual financial audit process
  • Ensuring employment related tax compliance across all locations
  • Staying up to date with payroll regulation and changes

 

What do we want from you?

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English
  • Part- or fully qualified accountant or payroll technician with notable experience/knowledge in European payroll processes and compliance
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills to actively interrogate and present data in a meaningful format
  • Advanced Excel skills with an understanding of vlookups, pivot tables and analysis of large amounts of data
  • Business Central and Salesforce experience preferred but not essential
  • Working knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, journals, helping with end of year procedures and audit
  • Proactively identifying problems and opportunities to standardise, streamline and improve finance processes and accuracy
  • An ability to handle multiple tasks under tight timelines and prioritise
  • A great working attitude and team mentality
