Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join Boeing Global Services (BGS) Accounting Policy team in one of the following locations: Hazelwood, MO, Chicago, IL, Plano, TX or Renton, WA.

This Senior Accountant position is part of the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Accounting Policy team and interacts regularly with key finance and accounting personnel at BGS and Corporate, and the Company's external and internal auditors.

As the Senior Accountant you will:

  • Participate in a team of technical accounting professionals who perform accounting research, develop accounting policies, and provide accounting determination on issues in a complex environment
  • Research and interpret generally accepted accounting principles to ensure proper reporting of external financial statements

Specific areas of expertise assigned to this position include:

  • Serving as primary liaison to the BGS finance teams
  • Performing evaluations of complex transactions involving topics such as revenue, backlog, inventory and impairment risks
  • Supporting and performing analysis for Corporate Accounting such as goodwill and BGS related corporate development activities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on various technical accounting matters
  • Leads the analysis and interpretation of highly complex transactions, policies and regulatory requirements, primarily related to revenue recognition, inventory and impairment risks
  • Researches and provides expert guidance on new and existing accounting issues including writing whitepapers on accounting issues
  • Assists the financial reporting team with preparation of certain quarterly financial statement schedules
  • Ensures continued compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act and assists in the analysis and mitigation of compliance risk/errors of a complex nature
  • Participates in special projects as they arise

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience researching and applying US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to solve complex accounting issues

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
  • Work experience in industry with a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC registrant and/or public accounting firm
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting
  • Experience with Estimates of Completion (EACs)

Typical Education/Experience: 
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range for Chicago, IL; Plano, TX and Renton, WA: $106,250 - $143,750

Summary pay range for Hazelwood, MO: $99,450 - $134,550
