What you'll do...

Position Overview: The Director of Associate Interface Safety will lead a team of Senior Managers responsible for overseeing different safety categories within the organization. This role will provide strategic direction, manage performance improvements, and ensure the effective design, approval, and implementation of safety measures and tools. The Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance safety performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the overall strategy for Associate Interface Safety, aligning with organizational safety objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of Senior Managers, each responsible for specific safety categories.

  • Establish clear goals and performance metrics for the safety team and oversee their execution.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Managers, ensuring effective management of safety design approvals, new equipment and tools, and overall category improvements.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career development for team members.

  • Foster a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Category Oversight:

  • Oversee the management of safety in various categories, ensuring that design approvals, equipment and tool evaluations, and safety improvements are effectively implemented.

  • Review and approve safety designs and specifications to ensure compliance with safety standards and organizational policies.

  • Collaborate with Senior Managers to drive category-specific safety improvements and address any challenges or issues.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and procurement teams, to integrate safety considerations into new projects, equipment, and tools.

  • Engage with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, industry groups, and vendors, to stay informed about safety trends and best practices.

  • Address stakeholder concerns and ensure alignment on safety initiatives and requirements.

Performance Improvement:

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of safety initiatives across different categories, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Analyze safety data and trends to drive strategic decision-making and enhance safety performance.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safety outcomes and reduce risks.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on safety performance, category improvements, and compliance status to senior management and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation related to safety designs, approvals, equipment evaluations, and improvement initiatives.

Innovation and Best Practices:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging safety technologies, and best practices to drive innovation in safety management.

  • Promote the adoption of new safety tools and techniques that enhance overall safety performance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Proven experience in overseeing safety design approvals, equipment and tool evaluations, and category-specific safety improvements.

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices, with a focus on practical application in various safety categories.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in safety management software and tools, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...
