Job Description:

The Program Coordinator will have a unique opportunity to work with the Medical Education team to build a free-standing degree-granting medical school in Northwest Arkansas.

The Program Coordinator will proactively and continuously manage and support programs, projects, and processes in developing and rolling out the ARCHES curriculum and effectively implement solutions to improve the projects and processes. The Program Coordinator will provide support and implement key strategies for strategic initiatives and stay current and abreast of relevant literature in medical education. The Program Coordinator will work closely with key stakeholders, including but not limited to accreditation agencies, the Heartland Whole Health Institute, local health systems, other schools of medicine, and deans from local, regional, and national schools of medicine to cultivate relationships and implement collaborative practices.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions Specific to the Position:

  • Implement and manage daily needs for work unit as listed by manager and for program success.
  • Develop and recommend processes and coordinate new ideas and improvements.
  • Contribute to ongoing accreditation efforts with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and the Higher Learning Commission.
  • Coordinate and nurture relationships with remote and in-person partners.
  • Assist with the implementation of instructional technologies such as, but not limited to, ScholarRx, Canvas, One45, and Examsoft.
  • Effectively anticipate and respond to needs and requests, both internal and external.
  • Archive/Document seminal events in the building of the SOM.
  • Manage projects that require excellent multitasking, organization skills, and attention to detail.
  • Organize and coordinate new ideas and programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Work Experiences and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of administrative experience.
  • Experience in process improvement and project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Instructional Technologies and ability to learn new software applications
  • Strong commitment to self-care

Preferred Work Experiences and Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, medical education, and/or healthcare with an emphasis on program development
  • Strong editing and writing skills
  • Enjoy learning with a solid commitment to professional growth
  • Support the mission and vision of the AWSOM
  • Demonstrate strong judgment, intellectual agility, and flexibility regarding overall priorities and day-to-day tasks
