As a Senior Product Manager, you will have ownership of your product area’s strategy and roadmap, including the establishment of your product story and North Star metrics. You will be the key advocate for your investments and will have the freedom and responsibility to experiment with your hypotheses.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Utilize data-driven insights to inform product strategy and decision-making.
- Customer Discovery: Engage with customers to understand their pain points, needs, and feedback. Conduct interviews, surveys, and usability tests to gather actionable insights.
- Product Roadmap: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic goals. Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer needs, market demands, and business objectives.
- Feature Definition: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to define and document detailed product requirements and specifications.
- Feature Rollout: Oversee the end-to-end feature development process, from ideation to launch. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality features that meet customer expectations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between stakeholders, including executives, customers, and development teams. Communicate product vision, progress, and updates effectively.
Day in the Life:
- Start the day with a stand-up meeting with the product development team to discuss progress, challenges, and priorities. Review customer feedback and market trends over coffee.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis. Identify potential opportunities and threats in the market. Prepare a report to share with the executive team.
- Engage in customer discovery activities. Conduct interviews or usability tests with current users to gather insights on their experience and needs.
- Work on the product roadmap. Prioritize features based on gathered insights and strategic goals. Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to define detailed requirements for upcoming features.
- Participate in a cross-functional meeting to discuss the rollout of a new feature. Ensure all teams are aligned and prepared for the launch.
- Review performance metrics of recently launched features. Analyze data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement. Plan the next iteration of enhancements.
Who You Are:
- 8+ years in Product Management, with demonstrated success building mobile applications and/or HR SaaS products, and a proven track record of building products from 0 to 1 or scaling products from 1 to 10 in terms of revenue, retention, and active users.
- You've worked at a fast-paced, scaling startup (< 500 employees, growing at least 2x in revenue each year) in the last 5 years, or believe you'll excel in a startup environment
- Demonstrates strong systems-level thinking; thinks in terms of the connected whole versus individual features
- Love working with customers and users; hungry and relentlessly resourceful in talking with and getting feedback from users
- Require proficiency in both English and Chinese: empathetic and precise communication, both written and verbal – with the ability to influence people across cultures and geographies.
- Plus if you have experience working in local businesses (i.e. restaurants, retail), even if it’s that one part-time job back in high school
- Plus if you have experience working with offshore and remote engineering teams
- Plus if you have experience with one or more of the following products: HRIS, Time and Attendance, Scheduling, Payroll, Benefit, AI application in B2B SaaS
In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is between $150,000-$200,000 USD. This range is not inclusive of our equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
