Position Overview:

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for cultivating partnerships with business leaders that help Boston Whaler continually enhance our ability to achieve results through people. This role will promote corporate values in a designated business unit through tactical human resources management - including employee relations, employee engagement, Database management, customer experience, legal and compliance and Onboarding talent. It will support both Edgewater and Flagler Operations.

The successful candidate will actively seek information to understand customers’ needs, problems, expectations and assimilate this information to apply novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities.

Success in this role will require a flexible skill set, including the ability to execute tactically and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide day-to-day human resources support to employees with the underlying objective to strengthen employee relations and engagement to enhance a positive work environment.
  • Serves as a key Employee Relations contact for facility to respond and follow up to day-to-day HR related issues such as performance management, benefits questions, attendance, payroll, and other workplace concerns. May support a variety of client groups, including Supply Chain and Logistics or Operations.
  • Manages Kronos attendance tracking system and administer attendance policy.
  • Coordinate and monitor hourly employee reviews process for target completion.
  • Manage and resolve all mid-level to complex employee relations issues within client groups.
  • Counsel employees and managers on job related issues, including providing assistance to managers on performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct investigations and make recommendations based on findings by providing problem resolution through policies and procedures interpretation
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to assist in recruitment and selection processes as necessary and execute sourcing strategies, local career events, and local marketing campaigns.
  • Facilitate new hire on-boarding to ensure quick and effective assimilations to the company. Conduct the New Hire Orientation weekly for the new hires onsite.
  • Plan, organize, and lead human resource activities, including employee engagement events and community involvement events.
  • Consult and advise on cyclical human resource processes such as succession planning, talent reviews, performance reviews and the annual merit planning cycle.
  • Walk the manufacturing shop floor to interact with hourly employees and build a positive work environment.
  • Actively plan for and own annual open enrollment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Ability to effectively use HR systems like Kronos, Workday and MS Excel.
  • Meet with employees, supervisors, and business leaders to address concerns, and mediate differences between employees and managers.
  • Facilitate the employee survey process including exit interviews, engagement surveys to encourage completion rates.
  • Manage the Legal and Compliance documents related to ADA, Workers Compensation, FMLA. May act as Program Lead for Worker's Compensation.
  • Partner with HR Shared Services and HR COEs on implementation of HR initiatives/services
  • Build and utilize HR metric dashboards to recognize trends. Partner with plant leadership to develop strategic plans to proactively address areas of concern.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resource functions including tactical HR process, HR Systems, Talent Acquisition process.

  • Ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, facilitate business processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 + years of progressive experience in tactical Human Resources roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Working knowledge and experience in multiple HR functions and procedures (pay and benefits, compensation, labor law and employment best practices, HR systems, training, performance management, employee relations, change management).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry preferred.

Location:

  • This position will support the Edgewater, Florida and Flagler Beach, Florida locations. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel to each location regularly, with at least 1 day a week spent at the Flagler Beach facility.
