Position Summary

The Lead Accountant & Chief Accountant – Vietnam is responsible for leading the accounting function of Fortna Vietnam and ensuring full compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations, and Fortna internal policies. This role replaces the former Lead Accountant position and expands its scope to include oversight of tax compliance, statutory reporting, internal controls, and coordination with external auditors. The Chief Accountant manages the accounting team and ensures high‑quality month‑end and year‑end reporting. The role reports directly to the Sr. Finance Manager, who also serves as the Legal Representative of Fortna Vietnam.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounting operations and supervise all accounting activities.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and AX/FAST uploads.
• Ensure compliance with VAS, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT filings and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external audits.
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and compliance procedures.
• Supervise accountants and provide coaching, guidance, and performance oversight.
• Collaborate with HR, IT, Legal, and Software teams on payroll and compliance matters.
• Provide technical recommendations and risk assessments to the Sr. Finance Manager / Legal Representative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Vietnam Chief Accountant Certificate (mandatory requirement).
• 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience; multinational company experience preferred.
• Strong expertise in VAS, tax compliance, audits, and statutory reporting.
• Proven experience leading or supervising an accounting team.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (AX preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
