This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

Join our passionate and accomplished team of experts as a leader of Data Engineers, Scientists, and Analysts. You will support the Blue Engines business unit by delivering top-notch rocket engines. You'll develop data solutions and provide reporting, analytics, sciences, and data services. Your expertise in wrangling data will be essential in a multifaceted environment, ensuring clarity and direction for your team. You will have a significant impact on the entire engine development lifecycle, from requirements to maintenance, with a focus on data flow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years leading a BI development team or 8+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proven experience designing and architecting sophisticated data pipelines and data solutions to meet various data requirements.
  • Solid experience in soliciting requirements, identifying and detailing the problem statement, and developing a solution that exceeds the customer's needs.
  • Good experience in extracting data and developing data models
  • Experience with hierarchical data structures and recursive processing techniques
  • Ability to negotiate through all levels of the business
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Self-starter, strong bias for action while navigating ambiguity
  • Demonstrable experience in data engineering and data sciences
  • Development experience building and supporting ETL and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficient in Python writing scripts that extract and transform data from various source systems
  • Experience working with and supporting AWS products
  • Experience working with Databricks, PostgreSQL, or similar
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience with dbt, Dagster, Tableau, Flask, Terraform, Elasticsearch, Plotly, Spark, Palantir Foundry
  • Experience with JIRA, Gitlab, and Confluence
  • Experience with resource management, manufacturing, PLM tools, and supply chain operations
  • Business-proven experience in procurement, supply chain, design engineering, manufacturing, aerospace


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $151,650.00-$212,310.00

Other site ranges may differ

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
