Position Summary...

We are an upstart team, akin to a nimble start up incubated within Walmart, building the best-in-class Suite of Data Products to deliver actionable, customer-centric insights and help merchants and suppliers make better business decisions on omni channel 360 performance.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will:

  • Help identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose.
  • Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data.
  • Analyse complex data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
  • Develop the Logical Data Model and Physical Data Models including data warehouse and data mart designs.
  • Define relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to create a data model structure.
  • Evaluate existing data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
  • Develop efficient data flows.
  • Analyse data-related system integration challenges and proposes appropriate solutions.
  • Create training documentation and trains end-users on data modelling.
  • Write code to develop the required solution and application features by determining the appropriate programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements.
  • Create test cases to review and validate the proposed solution design.
  • Create proofs of concept.
  • Test the code using the appropriate testing approach.
  • Deploy software to production servers.
  • Contribute code documentation, maintains playbooks, and provides timely progress updates.

Position Requirements:  

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience in Computer Science or statistics or engineering or related field.
  • Experience in Spark and Distributed computing frameworks.
  • Professional hand-on experience in scala/python.
  • Professional hand-on experience in Sql and Query Optimization.
  • Experience in programming design patterns.
  • Should have Experience with CI/CD tool like Jenkins etc.
  • Should have Experience with Orchestration tools like Airflow/ Automic etc.
  • Should have hand-on experience in Data processing and Data manipulation skills like Data warehousing concepts, SCD types etc.
  • At-least one cloud exposure (GCP is preferred).
  • Experience in Big Data applications.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams.  
  • Experience in Big Data applications
  • Mandatory Skills: Spark, Scala/Python, Sql, GCP, Airflow

Additional Qualifications:  

  • Good to have experience in financial analytics, cloud analytics, supply chain or retail analytics  
  • Years Of Experience: 3 to 6 Years 
  • Education/Qualification: Any Graduate/PG
