Position Title: Senior Trust Accountant

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Hours per week: 38 hours per week

Position Grade: Health Service Manager Level 3

Salary: $122,850 to $139,559 Base per annum

Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Health Employees Agreement 2019

About the role:

Come join our fantastic team of finance professionals based in Darlinghurst. 

You will be responsible for financial accounting functions for the St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (SVHNS) and Trustees of St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney (TSVH) Special Purpose and Trust Accounts, including, cash management, general ledger accounting, accruals and prepayments.

Lead and develop direct reports: ensuring that the professional development needs of the staff are identified and met, that staff are appraised on a regular basis, and staff are properly supervised and coached so that work is appropriately allocated and completed in a timely manner.

About you:

Are you a Senior Trust Accountant with excellent accounting skills and experience possibly in a in a health setting. Can you perform the financial accounting function for the trust accounts of SVHNS and TSVH including general financial accounting.

You will provide a high-quality trust accounting support and assistance to the Financial Controller; and also, be responsible for management of the assistant trust accountant to deliver quality financial records and reports for SVHNS and the TSVH.

You will be charged with ensuring compliance across all relevant standards of accreditation and legislative requirements within areas of responsibility or as delegated by the CEO, St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney. Coupled with operating within the delegated responsibilities and authorities as set by St Vincent’s Health Australia.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or other relevant discipline and membership of an appropriate professional accounting body or equivalent relevant experience.

3. Extensive experience in a financial accounting function in a large, complex organisation.

4. Excellent organisational, analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated experience in implementing change, including in financial policies, procedures and processes, across a complex organisation. 

5. Demonstrated experience in statutory reporting and cash flow management.

6. High level communication and interpersonal skills, including liaison and negotiation with a wide range of stakeholders. 

7. Demonstrated organisational, leadership, and management skills of a high order, coupled with an ability to exercise sound independent judgement and initiative.

8. Demonstrated experience in working with a large financial accounting system and management reporting system (previous Oracle/Access database experience preferred).
