Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot and manage system performance, ensuring that all applications run smoothly and efficiently. You will engage in problem-solving activities, utilizing your expertise to enhance system functionality and user experience, while also documenting processes and solutions for future reference. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity and reliability of business operations, making you an essential part of the team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME.
- Collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements as necessary.
Professional & Technical Skills:
12+ years Expert-level hands-on experience of Oracle Solaris and Linux system administration
Experience with hardware such as SPARC servers
Manage and maintain Oracle Solaris Zones, Logical Domains (LDoms), and Solaris/Veritas clustering technologies.
Demonstrated Experience in handling day-to-day Solaris & Linux operating system installation, migration, Automation and break-fix support.
Knowledge and expertise of High availability/Pacemaker Clusters.
Good exposure on different flavors of Linux. Especially SUSE, REDHAT
Good Team Management Skills
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
Performance management, storage and Network troubleshooting.
Knowledge on Ticketing tools – Service Now Preferred. Knowledge on Incident, Problem and change management
Good Team Management skills
Ability to structure and draft technical documentations
Strong working knowledge of ITIL processes
Flexibility to work as per Client requirements.
Automation and innovation centric approach with awareness of the available tools
Oracle Solaris certifications
Solaris CDOM, LDOM, Zone understanding and concepts of Live migrations.
Expertise in Linux system administration
Daily operational RUN support experience of Linux workloads on Azure/AWS Cloud platform.
Automation using Ansible, Puppet, Terraform
Knowledge of industry best practices for security and compliance
Good Exposure on patching and vulnerability remediations.
Azure Kubernetes services or OpenShift experience
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in Sun Solaris Server Management.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
