The primary responsibility of the club manager is to ensure all dock employees are properly trained, to provide exceptional service to our members, and to maintain an impeccably clean and ship fleet. In addition to running the daily logistics of the club location, you will be expected to perform all duties required of the Dock Masters. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and supervise all dock-level personnel to ensure our members receive the highest level of service at all club locations 

  • Maintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees

  • Develop weekly dock staff schedule to maximize efficiency and review and approve payroll.  You should insert yourself into the schedule for a minimum of 30 hours per week. 

  • Review and analyze member comment cards on a weekly basis and take appropriate action as required

  • Ensure all best practices are followed to provide consistent service as detailed in our dock manual

  • Ensure all dock staff provides the “Red Carpet” Treatment our members deserve.  Establishing specific member meet and greet procedures in addition to boarding and disembarking procedures

  • Develop a weekly schedule to ensure all boats are receiving a routine weekly cleaning as detailed in the manual

  • Submit work orders to the Fleet Manager to ensure all fleet needs are being addressed on time

  • Investigate member misconduct and submit all incident reports to the main office

  • Correspond with members on all dock-related issues including but not limited to complaints, fuel disputes, vessel damages, and miscellaneous dock charges

  • Ensure adequate supply levels are being maintained at each location. 

  • Oversee the weekly paperwork submissions to the home office

  • Oversee and track fuel logs and vessel fueling

  • Acquaint yourself with local marina managers/harbor masters and promote a positive working relationship in all marinas

  • Become familiar with local waterways and popular boating destinations surrounding your club and adhere to all safety policies

  • Ensure that all dock staff are following proper protocol regarding prospective members so they can be compensated for their efforts

  • Oversee that the boats are clean and the members are happy


Qualifications:

  • High School degree

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Boating experience in and around boats is desirable

  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity

  • Highly effective communication skills and friendly customer service are required

  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to perform minor boat maintenance (engine oil, drive oil, filters, bilge pump, etc)

  • Physical ability to lift / carry up to 30 lbs

  • Physical ability to board and un-board boats dozens of times per day

  • Physical ability to clean boats often using a mounted brush

  • Occasional kneeling / stooping to clean the interior of boat compartments

  • Vision adequate to read / manipulate hand-held computer tablets

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish
