The Technical Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting the objectives of the accounting organization at The Kinetic Group through assisting with the accurate and timely communication of financial results to the appropriate stakeholders. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will assist with the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial reporting and technical accounting research and implementation. It requires deep expertise in US GAAP, and familiarity with IFRS accounting and reporting requirements, along with oversight of internal controls and accounting policy enforcement.

This position reports to the Director of Accounting and is based out of our Anoka office and will work under a hybrid work schedule with 3 days a week in office.

What you'll do:

Technical Accounting

  • Research accounting questions and apply guidance in accordance with IFRS reporting standards. Have a working knowledge of US GAAP standards and IFRS standards is preferred.

  • Prepare technical accounting memos to support accounting transactions as they arise.

  • Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards.

  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and identify/report deviations.

  • Assist in maintaining internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules, coordination with auditors, and timely resolution of audit findings and requests.

Reporting

  • Oversee preparation of financial statements and reports required for financial reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements to facilitate timely consolidation and financial reporting to all stake holders, and other audit-related documentation.

  • Preparing financial reports and reviewing account balance reconciliations and journals.

  • Monitor and ensure transactions are appropriately accounted for expenses and revenues in compliance with both internal financial policies and external financial regulations.

  • Maintain and manage accurate files to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records.

  • Assist with the management of the month end close.

  • Responsible for the reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy of financial data.

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting reports in a timely manner that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit and ensuring timely responses to requests, and accurate financial data is supplied.

  • Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to collaborating with stakeholders, organizing accounts for accurate classifications, conducting financial analysis, recommending improvements, and other items as needed.

  • Facilitate the timely communication of financial results to shareholders, including to our parent company, CSG.


Additional Roles And Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in closing the accounting books, including month end close, consolidation, and reconciliations

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives

  • Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams

  • Communicate effectively in meetings of various sizes, influencing and negotiating as needed

  • Manage direct reports, providing coaching, career development, and performance management

  • Maintain flexibility to support critical deadlines and business needs

  • Support special projects and system implementations

  • Reinforce positive culture and engagement of team


Experience you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA preferred.

  • 4-6 years of public accounting experience preferred.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Suite of products. Relevant experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP system preferred.

  • Leadership and problem-solving abilities.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide instructions to other staff, creating detailed reports, and offering insight to other managers.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic multinational environment.

  • Advance knowledge of accounting practices, full cycle accounting, laws and regulations in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and preferably International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Attention to detail to ensure quality work, and deadlines are adhered to.

  • Ability to manage time effectively to ensure that projects are equally balanced.

  • Analyze financial data to draw insights, provide feedback and communicate guidance to members of the organization.

  • Problem solving skills to avoid or resolve accounting issues and complex financial issues.

  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$99,600.00 - $139,500.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
