About This Role: 

As a Finance Business Controller, you will be a pivotal part of our Financial Controllership team, ensuring affiliate controllership and statutory reporting are conducted with precision. Your role will involve maintaining accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards. You'll play a critical role in establishing robust internal control processes in line with SOX requirements, acting as a key conduit to both internal and external stakeholders across regional and local landscapes. Leading legal and statutory accounting and audits will be your forte, ensuring timely resolutions and precise document reconciliation. Moreover, you'll spearhead tax strategies and filings, contributing significantly to our current operations and future portfolio implications, in partnership with the Global Tax Team. Your proactive approach will help identify areas for continuous improvement in our accounting processes and cross-functional workflows, enhancing overall business efficiency.

This role reports to the Head of Finance International Partner Markets.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting for the Business Area/Affiliate Legal entity.
  • Collaborate with GBS to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Oversee reconciliations of all US GAAP balance sheet and P/L accounts.
  • Ensure revenue recognition aligns with corporate accounting policies and US GAAP.
  • Evaluate key accounting judgments and material estimates.
  • Manage the accounting budget and track deliveries versus plan.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Lead tax matters, including filings and compliance with SOX requirements, in partnership with the Global Tax Team.
  • Collaborate with auditors and manage statutory audit requirements.
  • Maintain an effective internal control environment.
  • Engage with stakeholders and manage third-party relationships.
  • Support continuous improvement and project management initiatives.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Professional certification (Chartered Accounting, ACA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of experience in progressive roles/responsibilities.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting systems and US GAAP/local GAAP.
  • Strong organizational skills and deadline management.

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA degree.
  • Experience in public accounting (Big 4 firms preferred).
  • Understanding of local tax rules and international experience.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, Oracle, Hyperion).
  • Experience in a US multinational pharmaceutical industry.
