Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Starbucks Leader is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Staffing and Scheduling: Ensures the right associates are in the right place, at the right time, doing the right work to serve the customer. Is aware of and planning for future staffing needs. Schedules to meet the customer needs.
  • Teaching and Training: Equips associates with the right knowledge and skills to achieve excellence. Ensures training is consistently planned, communicated, completed, and documented.
  • Sales and Inventory: Ensures the right products are in the right place and quantity to grow sales and minimize waste. Establishes and maintains inventory flow using Starbucks Inventory Model, including Point-of-use, Front Stock, Back Stock, and signals for replenishment. Ensures inventory availability and delivery readiness.
  • Ops Standards and Continuous Improvement: Uses the right systems to consistently deliver excellence and guide improvement. Ensures Customer Support, Ops Station and Station Assessments are used consistently to keep the store clean, safe, and ready, while meeting all health and OSHA requirements.
  • Prioritizing and Planning: Has plans in place to achieve established goals and space to adapt to the unexpected. Makes disciplined use of the four planning steps (Capture, Clarify, Prioritize, Plan) and leverages the Leader Weekly Planning Guide to keep their plans updated. Captures store-specific information and uses it to inform their plans. Communicates their plan with their team effectively and transparently.
  • Coaching for Performance and Development: Helps associates through meaningful coaching conversations that drive performance. Observes interactions and provides feedback and coaching to reinforce or redirect.
  • Effective Communication: Ensures associates have the right information to deliver the best experience for our customers. Actively encourages associates to explore their coffee and craft ambitions. Ensures Weis Markets recognition programs are available and in-use. Ensures that the store embraces practices that embody Our Mission and Values.
  • Business Analysis and Problem Solving: Understands how to achieve top priorities and removes obstacles that are a barrier to excellence. Regularly uses a business analysis cycle to assess the business, identify trends, and guide activity that improves results in the store. Identifies gaps as “standards gaps” or “opportunity gaps” and captures next steps using their Leader Weekly Planning Guide.
  • May operate and be responsible for cash register operations. Follows policies and procedures to ensure proper money handling to avoid cash overages or shortages.
  • Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.
  • May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises all associates in department. Specific number depends upon store sales volume.
