Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Director, Kerestesi Center for Insurance and Risk Management, Lee Business School [R0144566].

ROLE of the POSITION

The newly created Kerestesi Center for Insurance and Risk Management (KCIRM) was created for the purpose of providing excellent career opportunities for deserving LEE graduates through industry study, internships, and various experiential opportunities.

The KCIRM Director is responsible for student recruitment, development and exposure via classes in the insurance and risk management major and minor, and overseeing all aspects of the student experiences, including teaching, experiential learning and development.

Additionally, the Director is responsible for developing and managing relationships for the purpose of creating and managing professional entry career employment opportunities as well as meaningful internship and mentorships within the insurance and risk management industry.

In terms of managing the Kerestesi Center’s operations, the position requires strong leadership skills and effective fiscal oversight so the Center operates effectively, efficiently, and responsibly including the recruitment, development, and management the Center’s staff and its finances.

About Lee Business School: As one of the largest schools at UNLV with approximately 3,500 undergraduate students, 500 graduate students, more than 140 faculty and staff, and 25,500+ alumni, Lee Business School offers 10 undergraduate majors, 12 minors, and seven graduate degree programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a master’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and experience working at various levels in the insurance and/or risk management industries including management and leadership roles, experience developing talent and mentoring and teaching, and proven ability to work with college-age students. This position also requires technical expertise in either commercial property & casualty and/ or health and life insurance. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Professional level education experience such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC.

Specific experience in teaching and mentoring college students.

Large commercial account expertise in commercial property and casualty insurance and/ or risk management.
