Position Overview

The Technical Solution Executive (Tech SE) partners with the Named Account Sales Executive (NASE) to lead revenue goals by managing the technical relationship and strategy for the account. The Tech SE defines the technical account strategy by combining the appropriate sales methodology, deep industry and technical background, to align with sales initiatives while advocating for the customer within Autodesk by partnering with sales, customer success, consulting, and marketing to provide a clear understanding of the customer's environment, challenges and requirements. The Tech SE fosters long-term partnerships and expansion with customers by aligning the customer's business projects and technical goals with Autodesk's vision, mission, and strategy. This position is full-time remote and will report to the Manager of Technical Solutions, Named Accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Account Plan Development and Management: In partnership with Named Account Sales Executives develop technical account plan and executes on strategy for closing business. Use Autodesk sales methodologies to ensure technical closure and understanding

  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop required level of knowledge of customers' business process, workflows, and technical requirements to build "trusted advisor" relationships with customers. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the business processes, technology trends, and workflows, within their domain of expertise, to provide insight and guidance required to position the value of current and new Autodesk solutions

  • Technical Discovery & Solution Fit: Manage technical discovery, provide guidance in the formulation of requirements definitions, scope documents, user needs studies, process and project assessments for sales opportunities. Leverage Autodesk software and services together with other resources to develop solutions that satisfy technical, fiscal and schedule constraints within the customers business

  • Customer Closure: Responsible for aligning with main customer team members to secure business and technical closure of the proposed solution. Manage technical evaluations, defines solution architecture, facilitate product demonstrations, "pilot" projects. Provide technical validation and assess feasibility, correctness and completeness of proposed solutions; apply best practices in solving business problems. Assess and direct customers regarding strategic product issues involving license deployment, licensing structures and license management to maximize customer satisfaction and product revenue

  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain trusted working relationships with the sales team and adjacent business partners. Partner with cross-functional teams (sales management, Customer Success, consulting, development, and technical sales) to acquire the correct talent/resource for individual sales opportunities. Oversee and guide these resources to outlined account objective to ensure customer satisfaction and business closure

  • Internal Leadership: Shares best practices, competitive information, innovation, and thought leadership within the sales organization, product divisions, and technical sales organization. Interacts and communicates with the business units of Autodesk to ensure that needs are met. Provide answers and knowledge share technical product and integration information about Autodesk or competitor products

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related industry

  • 5-10 years of practical experience in the Manufacturing industry, with additional knowledge or experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction industry

  • Demonstrable skills in the following areas: Project Design lifecycle, coordination and estimation workflow

  • Experience deploying new technology into a workforce to inspire innovation, change, and efficiency. Understanding of IT, and digital practice needs and pains

  • Knowledge of the Autodesk Manufacturing solutions

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $178,600 and $258,500. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries and/or OTE for sales roles, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
