What you’ll do…
Want to define the future of eCommerce and omnichannel at Fortune 1? The team works at the intersection of physical/digital retail and across the enterprise to meet our customers’ needs where, when, and how they want. Our team’s mission is to create a seamless omnichannel experience for our customers, associates, and suppliers.
We are responsible for strategic initiatives, special projects, data science and analytics associated with Walmart.com; the data, systems, and governance surrounding Walmart US’ catalog; and strategy and support related to Walmart’s omnichannel platforms. As an MBA intern, you’ll have the opportunity to “choose your own adventure” and shape the direction of your project. You’ll work with stakeholders across the Business, Engineering, Product, and UX/Design organizations and make a real impact.
During your 11 weeks at Walmart, you might:
Identify ways for our team to work more productively by creating a roadmap to make the user interface of a key technology platform more intuitive.
Accelerate the growth of our Marketplace business by gathering feedback from individuals and companies who sell their products at Walmart and on Walmart.com and creating a streamlined, user-friendly seller onboarding process.
Improve the user experience of Walmart.com by designing a strategy for item visibility, minimizing the number of out-of-stock items our customers see as they search and browse the site and much more!
You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:
Thrive in ambiguity: You naturally apply structure and frameworks to accelerate end-to-end results and enjoy bringing clarity to complex situations
Have a “detective’s mindset”: You’re intellectually curious, eager to learn the business, and driven to uncover the root causes of the issues we’re working to solve
Solve problems: You have a bias for action and can develop short-term, sustainable solutions to issues in real-time
Are data-driven: You can handle large datasets and use them to identify trends and derive actionable insights
Are a storyteller: You can present strategic initiatives in a narrative format that brings to life the problems we’re working to solve. You know how to build and present audience-specific, enterprise-level story arcs to diverse stakeholders, ranging from peers to executives to board members
Innovate: You’re driven to shape Walmart’s business strategy and direction in creative ways, and can envision how your ideas will impact associates and customers
Are accountable: You are a team-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead strategic initiatives that continue our focus on stability, growth, and profitability metrics; you regularly communicate progress to relevant stakeholders
The Internship: Held over an 11-week period during the summer of 2025 for MBA students graduating between December 2025 and August 2026. The paid internship will prepare associates for a potential career with Walmart. Work on a meaningful project, network with industry experts, and develop your skills as you explore Northwest Arkansas, our HQ, and have an epic summer!
After successfully completing the program, high-performing interns may be offered the opportunity to join the eCommerce team and will start on the path to growing a fulfilling career at Walmart.
Desired Majors: Master's in Business Administration, computer engineering, computer science, data analytics, operations management, supply chain management, or other related quantitative fields
