The Job At-A-Glance:

The Program Manager will provide oversight of ongoing projects for assigned clients in the Q2 Integrated Services Organization. Core responsibilities of this role will include focusing on high-level program management, coordination of individual workstreams, and client satisfaction. The Program Manager is the primary point of contact for delivery of assigned programs and projects.

A Typical Day:

  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously in a matrixed environment while ensuring on-time high quality delivery.

  • Coordinate workstreams and their interdependences through collaboration with various Q2 partners.

  • Develop and maintain project roadmap for assigned FI’s.

  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to be a change agent and to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Regularly interact with internal and external leadership, including executives, acting as primary escalation point for assigned programs.

  • Manage program-level communications with the assigned clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Report to senior executives on the progress of individual workstreams and the overall program.

  • Track progress and provide updates on any changes in strategy or priorities.

  • Create and maintain program documentation for assigned FI’s including standard artifacts and reporting dashboards.

  • Define and manage program governance (controls). Actively manage risks and issues, taking appropriate corrective measures.

  • Keep a forward-looking view of assigned programs. Ability to anticipate issues before they arise.

  • Proactively monitor program resourcing, escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Plan, coordinate and support the development of measurement systems and management reports including KPIs, balanced scorecards, and dashboards; develop specialized reports as needed.

  • Work with upstream and downstream teams to develop and maintain delivery playbooks.

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or project management and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.

  • Experience working with large, complex projects and programs in a matrixed environment, including delegation of tasks and measurement of progress.

  • Experience in the financial services industry is beneficial.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as active listening skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to influence.

  • Proven track record in collaborating with cross-functional teams and with all levels of leadership

  • Ability to work with deadlines and in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to think independently and consider cross-functional and downstream impacts

  • Ability to analyze information, make connections and demonstrate deep-level thinking

  • Innovative thinking, strategic focus, and aptitude that challenges the status quo

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Strong, proven financial acumen

  • Ability to anticipate needs and effectively manage risk associated with assigned FI’s.

  • Strong teamwork, organization, and problem resolution skills 

  • Proven track record of effective client communication and escalation management

  • Experience with JIRA, MS Project or other work / project tracking tools

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a high-pressure environment

  • Demonstrate appropriate sense of urgency
