As a Customer Business Manager on our Sam's Club sales team, you will lead the development and implementation of planning at the account level, focusing on total volume, profit and share growth of the portfolio for assigned categories within our Grocery segment, including iconic brands such as Chef Boyardee, Hunt's and Vlasic. You will manage the business plan to meet all volume, profit and share objectives. You will also implement brand strategies and tactics with customers by working closely with key decision makers and cross functional partners, and using consumer insights and category management programs to guide customer decision-making. You will report to a Senior Sales Director.

Your Impact:

  • Develop the annual strategic plan for the customer and present internally to gain agreement on opportunities for growth.
  • Lead the joint business planning process with the customer with a focus on strategic thought leadership in the categories they represent.
  • Use Sales Planning tools to create customer plans.
  • Develop and implement trade promotion strategies and tactical plans with the customer.
  • Monitor and update the customer's overall business plan, including managing trade budgets, spending and volume, to achieve all sales goals versus the plan.
  • Conduct post event analysis to evaluate promotional volume, consumption, profit and spending results versus plan and use findings to maximize future promotional opportunities.
  • Manage deduction balances and conduct post audits.
  • Conduct category business reviews to discuss the state of the business, consumer trends, key business drivers and incremental opportunities.
  • Use team-dedicated Category Leadership resources.
  • Understand brand strategies and tactics and implement them by working with the customer's decision makers, including buyers, category managers and merchandising leaders.
  • Use sound category management practices to link consumer and shopper trends and opportunities.
  • Lead the customer in execution of category reviews.
  • Develop accurate monthly forecasts to maximize supply chain efficiencies by tracking shipments, consumption data and inventory changes. Call out potential risks or threats to monthly forecasts.
  • Sell in new items to our customer and work with customer team to achieve optimal distribution.
  • Leverage partners including Commerce Marketing, Business Planning, Business Development, and Category Leadership resources to develop and implement collaborative marketing programs in alignment with brand and customer strategies.
  • Identify profitable opportunities to grow incremental volume.
  • Provide direction to Retail Effectiveness Teams on how to implement customer specific plans at store level.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years CPG industry experience, including field sales and/or headquarter experience
  • Experience conducting meetings at the Senior Buyer level with the customer
  • Experience managing trade budgets, spending and volume
  • Experience managing a P&L
  • Negotiation
  • Knowledge of supply chain

Compensation: 

Pay Range:$104,000-$152,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
