Senior Commercial Manager, Flights

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to join us in our  Glasgow or Edinburgh Office and be part of our highly distributed global team. Skyscanner is a global travel brand with a strong footprint in air travel. Our product now incorporates over 1000 partnerships with airlines and online travel agencies. You’ll be responsible for the commercial performance across some of our EMEA markets and for the relationships with Skyscanner’s airline and travel agency partners.

Commercial Manager, Flights Team

We have a role open to become a Commercial Manager in the global Flights team (Edinburgh or Glasgow office). You’ll be responsible for the commercial performance across some of our EMEA markets and for the relationships with a portfolio of airline and travel agency partners. 

What you can expect as a Commercial Manager:

  • Ownership of market performance and a portfolio of partners
  • Operate at pace within a data-driven environment
  • Autonomy to make decisions and operate independently, within a strong and collaborative team
  • Develop and execute commercial plans that position Skyscanner as a strategic partner to some of the biggest players in aviation
  • Nurture and develop existing clients, maintain strong existing relationships, in addition to pursuing and securing new business

Your role will involve:

  • You will play a contributing role in the implementation of regional/market/partner performance strategies, in collaboration with the regional team
  • You will be responsible for generating incremental revenues from existing clients through data-driven performance analysis, partnership expansion and facilitating additional advertising and data products opportunities
  • You will be comfortable identifying key decision makers within airlines and agencies, developing strong relationships with them
  • As a fun, charismatic people person, you will thrive in coordinating with other functional and support areas, including SPS, Partner Engineering, Finance, Commercial Operations, ProdEng, User Sat and Legal
  • You will attend client meetings when required and represent the business at external events

What we are looking for:

  • A data-driven person, who understands the importance of monitoring relevant performance metrics and efficiently managing them, to focus on activities that grow revenue responsibly
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, data visualisation, data-driven presentation and communication
  • Previous job experience in managing commercial partnerships within the digital space and a good understanding of internet economy business
  • A strong understanding of the digital monetisation ecosystem, including knowledge of the different commercial models, tracking technologies, and advertising products
  • Proven success in client management or successful consultative or solution-selling experience
