As a Sr. Project Engineering for Infotainment and Connectivity with the Polaris On-Road team (Indian and Slingshot), you will be responsible for ensuring that the cost, schedule, and performance goals are met for the Connected and Infotainment projects across On-Road platforms. You will be responsible for performing activities concerned with the planning, design, validation, manufacturing, and field support of infotainment systems, and connectivity components from concept to production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage simultaneous integration programs with primary focus on Infotainment and Connected Systems.
  • Establish project development schedules and resource plans from concept to production implementation using the Polaris Development Process.
  • Track project costs in detail and complete forecasting exercises.
  • Drive issue resolution amongst the design and systems engineering teams to keep assigned projects on schedule.
  • Lead and/or participate in design reviews on projects to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups.
  • Collaborate with and drive alignment with product management for product roadmap development and level 1 requirements definition.
  • Coordinate resources to complete all projects per the approved budget and schedule.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and assist in design trade-offs with engineering teams.
  • Coordinate and track validation activities against design schedules with test teams.
  • Provide weekly connected and infotainment updates to electrical and vehicle teams.
  • Competitive benchmarking.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years work experience in software or digital related domains in automotive, agriculture, or consumer product engineering required.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures to the completion of difficult technical problems and projects.
  • Skilled in multitasking and executing many tasks at once.
  • Ability to operate independently, decisive and prone to action – self-starter.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience with JIRA preferred, but not required.
  • Exhibits outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written communication).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate upwards and outwards.
  • Understands and actively pursues the voice of the customer to exceed customer expectations.
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Polaris and Indian Motorcycles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Some travel required (10-15%), primarily proving grounds related.
  • Broad opportunities for on-vehicle static and dynamic (riding) experiences, validation and customer focus driven.
  • Current or desire to obtain Motorcycle driver’s license endorsement required.
