This is an opportunity to be part of an accomplished team of recruiters who partner with The Hartford’s leaders to aggressively recruit passive candidates to a fast-paced, growing, Fortune 500 firm with an exceptional company culture. 

The Senior Recruiter, Tech, Data, Analytics and Cyber, will be responsible for recruiting talent for the Enterprise Technology function at The Hartford Financial Services Group.  The Senior Recruiter will bring robust market knowledge, strong sourcing, and candidate development abilities to attract exceptional talent.  Strong technical recruiting experience including proactive sourcing and hiring of Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Reliability Engineers, and Data Scientists is a requirement to be considered for this role.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). The ideal candidate will be located in Charlotte, Hartford, Chicago or Columbus. Other locations may be considered if needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Use proven sourcing techniques and robust business and market knowledge to identify and attract highly competitive candidates for key roles at The Hartford. 

  • Develop job descriptions, search strategies, and target lists as well as networking to develop candidates for Software Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Data Scientist, Data Engineers and other technical roles and functions.

  • Rigorously assess talent and make hiring recommendations.

  • Research industry competitive intelligence and analyze external market trends to inform talent and organization decisions.

  • Partner with Managers and HR Generalists to analyze client business plans and staffing needs to anticipate future projections.

  • Manage complex hiring negotiations, including compensation recommendations and possible counteroffers.

  • Partner with legal to understand candidates’ existing restrictive covenant agreements and modify recruiting activity appropriately.

  • Advise hiring managers on strategic sourcing and recruiting processes, as well as market intelligence data and feedback; understand and manage expectations of business partners and provide a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Develop and maintain understanding of recruitment best practices, as well as understanding of client businesses and business plans.

  • Use passive and direct sourcing techniques and seek new methods and innovative solutions to identify and attract prospective candidates and build pipeline.

  • Develop long-term relationships with potential candidates.

  • Focus on sourcing and attracting a diverse slate of candidates, ensuring that we are always presenting the most qualified, most diverse slate of candidates.

  • Represent and differentiate The Hartford to external candidates by effectively describing the businesses within The Hartford and the industry trends.

  • Regularly attend appropriate business line and HR staff meetings as well as participate in special recruiting projects across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience recruiting; a minimum three years’ proven track record of developing, assessing, and attracting successful Tech/Data/Cyber talent is required

  • Experience recruiting for Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Reliability Engineers and/or Data Scientist is required

  • Experience recruiting for highly technical complex roles that require advanced sourcing strategies

  • Experience managing large scale hiring initiatives and geographic builds; proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, deadline-oriented environment

  • Experience negotiating and knowledge of complex compensation packages and with restrictive covenants (non-solicitation agreements, confidentiality agreements, etc.

  • Exceptional consulting, client management and candidate management skills; knowledge of metrics and reporting capabilities

  • Strong relationship building skills, with a proven track record of working effectively as an individual contributor as well as a team player

  • Strong business acumen, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a thirst for knowledge of the business

  • Ability to think creatively, embrace change, and suggest creative, innovative solutions as it relates to business needs

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$109,920 - $164,880
