Senior Contract Analyst


 

What you will be doing:

Support the planning, execution, and oversight of the account management of supply chain services at existing members/customers by providing analytics in support of maintaining products/services, documenting high level of customer validated savings, and assisting in expanding current accounts product lines and business solutions. This position will work closely with Account Teams at assigned accounts (hospitals and health systems) to determine resources needed to achieve breakthroughs and performance improvement in supply chain products and services, and where applicable, labor cost (productivity and benchmarking), clinical quality / safety programs.  All efforts and solutions will be supported by Premier data products and services.

This position works in collaboration with other field Region Specialists, Premier Performance Partner staff, client services, product management, operations, new business development to ensure customer service and value provided exceeds customer expectations.  Maintain product and service knowledge and technical competency in all products offered throughout Supply Chain Services.  Maintain awareness and knowledge of other business groups to better serve accounts and to drive additional member engagement.  Works closely with Premier Integrated Account Team to ensure coordinated account planning and maximize customer value from the Premier relationship.

Key Responsibilities

Analysis – 50%

  • Utilize Premier applications to develop high quality, member-ready analytics in support of achieving savings in excess of targets.

  • Generate a variety of other ad-hoc analytical work products required to manage the account.

  • Conduct routine analytics required to demonstrate the value of Premier contracts and to drive contract penetration.

  • Facilitate an efficient process to manage contract lifecycle, maximizing validated savings and minimize pricing discrepancies.

  • Maintain knowledge of member’s supply expense, spend on Premier contracts and financials

  • Become an expert on Supply Chain ITS tools. This includes the collection, uploading, management, and manipulation of all related data.

  • Respond to issues quickly and correctly and ensure they are resolved or escalated within the account team

  • Utilize knowledge of products and services in the capacity of a trusted advisor to member

Administrative – 50%

  • Ensure smooth and effective operations between company and member

  • Update monitoring and tracking tools, administrative reports such as salesforce.com, time and expense reports 

  • Represent the interests of Client Management internally in a variety of settings within and outside of the business group

  • Understand member goals/objectives and help them to achieve those goals

  • Make presentations regarding supply chain results and value as appropriate at conferences, workshops, board retreats, etc.

  • Participate in cross functional teams across Business unit’s regional operations teams as requested

  • Understand organizational structure and all product offerings

  • Understand how supply chain collaboratives work. Rules, member eligibility, etc.

  • Must be able to work with Account Team and other resources to quantify the value of these programs to support member interest and/or business review

  • The Senior Contract Analyst will be expected to play a leadership role relative to analytics within their region and across Premier. This could entail development, execution, training, communications, etc.

Skills:

  • Analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information into more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare supply chain

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Intermediate/Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Familiarity with Advanced Business Intelligence tools or data pulls for strategic process creation

  • Ability to organize large amounts of data gathered during elicitation and analysis, and to cope with rapidly changing information

  • Customer service skills (internal and external customers)

  • Ability to manage and lead cross-functional team collaboration

  • Ability to prioritize member needs and provide coverage

  • Ability to troubleshoot and communicate data/tool issues

  • Stong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and be self-accountable

Experience:

  • Experience in healthcare and IT environment preferred.

  • Ability to prepare and present clinical and/or financial data utilizing Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Premier tools to share cost management and/or clinical performance improvement opportunities.

  • The expectation is that Senior Contract Analysts will have demonstrated capable performance in a related Contract Analyst role for a period of 2-3 years.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

*The ideal candidate should be available to work onsite at the Member Hospital up to 3 days/week, however, remote flexibility with some travel could be possible.

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


 

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $64,000 - $118,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
