Job Purpose

The Financial Analyst - Banking, Insurance, Payroll (BIP) is responsible for support in month-end GL (general ledger) Business Banking, Treasury, Insurance and Payroll (BIP) closing activities and financial reporting of Market’s results. Support in the preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations. Ensuring allocated tasks are completed timely and accurately in a strong control environment. The role helps to deliver the Finance vision of a “world class finance function recognized by industry, the profession and our people” which underpins the GSK vision.

Sufficient financial acumen to ensure that postings to the financial statements are reasonable and accurate. The role also needs to be able to accurately implement controls & compliance.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business, Finance) OR equivalent work experience.

  • 1 to 2 years of experience

  • Proficient within Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent data accuracy skills, eye for detail, and commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Pro-actively identify the issues and take actions.

  • Strong communicator, both verbally and written, able to clearly explain policies and issues to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

Banking

  • Daily monitoring of bank balances, responsible for reporting daily cash positioning to relevant stakeholders

  • Responsible for managing data inputs for reporting of company’s cashflow projections (as and when required)

  • Recording of SAP BIP related entries through FEBAN interface on daily basis

  • Running daily and monthly controls related to cash at bank (Performing ICFW controls, act as Control champion).

  • Perform Bank Reconciliation exercise on fortnightly basis and to coordinate with various stakeholders for timely recording of unrecorded transactions.

  • To ensure that all BIP related documents are secured in shared drive and will be responsible of complete record keeping. 

  • Responsible of managing bank operations which includes opening / closing of bank accounts, addition / deletion of authorized signatories, coordination for banking mandates / resolutions updates.

  • Manage banking facilities (Intercompany loans, overdraft facility, Bank Guarantees etc.).

  • Coordinating between P2P, HR, LOC, Corporate Treasury, Insurance brokers and Local Banks in any related issues

  • Performing monthly BIP related accounting journals

  • Responsible for month-end-closing process for BIP domain

  • Ensure compliance to Regional / Global Finance Hub policies, local Company legal and statutory requirements.

  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met on time and with accuracy.

  • Operationally performing activities as well as supporting and leading a small team of Analyst(s). Role reporting into the Finance Manager - BIP.

  • Support in projects and other ad-hoc activities:

    • Support dividend payment process / related cashflow analysis & forecasting.

    • Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries.

    • Other activities related to BIP, Service Delivery, Controllership / Reporting activities.

Insurance

  • Coordination with Corporate Insurance Risk Management (CIRM) team for providing sufficient information regarding renewal of insurance policy.

  • To coordinate with P2P team for timely payment of insurance premium

  • To coordinate with Insurance broker, business unit in case of any insurance claim arise.

Payroll

  • Coordination with Bank and Payroll team on the smooth transactions from the Bank

  • To be focal point for execution of payroll transaction on monthly basis

  • To be responsible for recording of all payrolls related entries in SAP.

  • Managing Payroll issues by coordinating between HR, LOC, and Bank.
