Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Primary technical representative leading equipment change overs and monitoring equipment performance throughout the packaging of a batch.

  • Perform inspections on tooling, change parts and printing apparatus for wear and damage.

  • Responsible for engineering projects from conception to completion. Provide technical/mechanical input to Maintenance, Engineering, Automation Control and Calibration to resolve equipment issues.

  • Identify and implement changes and improvements to packaging equipment, buildings, facilities and utilities to improve safety and efficiency.

  • Assist in the preparation of project specifications, drawings, schedules, budgets, and Standard Operating procedures.

  • Assist other engineers in ensuring projects are designed and executed in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Direct Maintenance personnel, contractors, and consultants as required to complete work.

  • Assist in the inspection of work for conformance to specifications, drawings, and standards.

  • Assist in equipment downtime tracking and trending, determining of root cause of equipment issues with subsequent corrective actions.

  • Assist Manufacturing in solving problems and increasing efficiency.

  • Act as a resource to assist other engineers, maintenance, and operations personnel.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

  • Must be mechanically inclined, possess knowledge of PLC’s, computers, printers, plotters, and various test equipment. Must possess knowledge of drafting tools, AutoCAD, spreadsheets, word processing software, and project tracking software.

  • Must possess computer skills including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office 365. Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with other Viatris departments and demonstrate the ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems dynamically.
